Back with another recipe! I definitely focus on recipes that are simple like smoothies and drinks, but they’re also what I am constantly eating. So, unashamedly, I have another smoothie recipe of sorts. A lot of smoothie bowls have banana as a specific ingredient to get the right texture. The problem with that for me is that I don’t always have frozen bananas or even regular on hand, plus I can not eat too many, so a recipe that doesn’t have bananas in it is always beneficial! This one is easy and is perfect to eat for breakfast, lunch, or even as a late night snack! It is pretty rich, not too sweet, and definitely satisfying. Unfortunately this is not vegan but can be made vegan by swapping out the yogurt for coconut yogurt and the honey for agave. If you’re really nitty gritty you can also swap the cocoa powder for carob powder!
Get cozy and grab your favorite toppings because we’re about to make a delicious smoothie bowl!
1/4 cup frozen strawberries
1/4 cup frozen raspberries
1/4 cup frozen blackberries
3/4 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk
1/4 cup unflavored greek yogurt
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp honey
Place all ingredients into your blender of choice (I use the ninja bullet) and blend until smooth. If it isn’t blending well add in almond milk in 2 tsp increments so that you don’t loose that wonderful body that makes it a smoothie bowl. Pour into a bowl and top with your favorite toppings. I topped mine below with coconut granola, dried banana chips, chocolate chunks, roasted coconut flakes, and chia seeds.
